Big Island Medical Equipment, Inc. is owned and managed by Denise and Jim Korczyk.

Denise Korczyk, a Physical Therapy Assistant, has worked in skilled nursing and acute care facilities. She has extensive experience in family training. Jim and Denise both trained under the National Ski Patrol in outdoor emergency care. Jim spent several years as a volunteer emergency medical technician for the National Ski Patrol at Homewood Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe.

Both Jim and Denise also volunteered with Rock Med, a non-profit organization that provided free medical services at concerts and other events sponsored by Bill Graham Productions.
